Tea Partier extraordinaire Rep Paul Gosar (AZ-04) went all the way at a town hall meeting last night in Prescott AZ when he said that...
...he doesn't have a replacement for President Barack Obama's health care law.
"There's not going to be a replacement. Our health care didn't come broken, we broke it over a period of time."
Gosar touted efforts he said would undermine the Affordable Care Act including his Competitive Healthcare Insurance Reform Act - a bill that would undo a 70-year-old provision that exempts health insurance companies from anti-trust regulations.
Gosar was one of those Freedom Caucus members who gave the GOP fits last month:
His departure from the GOP's "repeal and replace" talking point comes as no surprise for the District 4 congressman who, since winning election with a wave of tea partyers in 2010, has portrayed himself as an outsider to the Republican establishment in Washington, D.C.
Regarding the recent changes in House leadership, Gosar was quick to point out he did not vote for House Speaker Paul Ryan, but supported Republican Rep. Daniel Webster of Florida. "I'm going to give Paul Ryan a shot," he said, though he was critical of the new speaker's role in drafting budgets for former Speaker John Boehner.
